Mission/ Vision

Ladies AmericaLADIES AMERICA is a national network of professional women, connecting to advance one another personally and professionally, following the motto, “Women Helping Women.

VISION   To develop and unite the strongest, healthiest, most educated professional women in the United States to support one another and ultimately realize a famous quote once spoken by the Dalai Lama, which is: “the world will be saved by the Western woman.”

GOALS

  • 1,000 women in mentorship program by 2017
  • 25,000 women serving as resources to each other in 15 cities by 2020
  • 10,000 hours of education in technology, business, and advocacy by 2020

OUTCOMES

  • Develop and unite strong, health, educated across the United States to ultimately assist women worldwide
  • Develop and support women for political, business, and non-profit executive and leadership positions
  • Aggregate other women’s initiatives, groups, and organizations to work as a stronger single unit
  • Create a national voice for women on major issues in the U.S.
  • Encourage sanctions against governments not enforcing existing human rights laws, particularly around violence, inequity, and sex slavery of women and girls

ABOUT

  • in 2006, began as Ladies Dinner Club with six women meeting monthly; now nationwide
  • Seven cities: DC, NYC, LA, Nashville, Albany, Atlanta, Seattle – Northern Virginia, Philadelphia in 2015
  • Headquartered in Washington, D.C. with over 3,000 women affiliated nationally
  • National following of approximately 12,000 women and men via bimonthly Ladies America News Brief
  • Nationally recognized with strong partners and affiliates, such as United Nations Foundation, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Center for Women in Business, U.S.O., and various media outlets
  • Continuing to improve expansion strategy, mentorship program, and international outreach
  • Further developing strategy to acquire foundation grants, sponsorships for improved technology platform and to hire full time paid staff to run the current professional volunteer-run organization

  • Ladies Rising
    • For women more advanced in their careers, looking to reach next level
    • Providing access to high-level coaches, networks and resources; launched October 2013
  • Ladies Emerging
    • For undergraduate college-level women preparing for their first job
    • Providing basic job search skills, mentorship, and access to first professional network
  • Ladies Re-Entering the Workforce (LRW)
    • For returning mothers and female veterans re/entering the job market
    • Providing targeted training to identify career path, refine resume, improve interview skills, and style
  • Ladies Moving
    • For women relocating to a new city or buying / selling a home
    • Providing access to dynamic network, resources, and training in investments and purchasing property

CITY CHAPTER OFFERINGS

  • Connecting: Member access to professional network, connecting women locally and nationally; $8/month
  • Mentoring: Strategic rollout of existing D.C.-based mentorship program to other city chapters, 2015
  • Educating: Monthly educational series with nation’s top leaders, speakers, professors, and entrepreneurs

NATIONAL ANNUAL EVENTS:

  • Women Leading the Future: Annual daylong women’s conference tackling key issues (womenleadingthefuture.org)
  • First Wednesdays: Top national speakers covering monthly theme via video or conference broadcast to all chapters
