Diane Von Furstenburg, Hillary Clinton, Norah O’Donnell, and the incredible award winning women from across the globe, risking their lives to see positive change realized— that was the scene was of last night’s Vital Voices event at the The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
Thank you to dear & special friend, Vital Voices award winner for her work in mentorship, Global Ambassador to Vital Voices, business owner, founder of Biz Divas India, and Ladies America, 2014 Women Leading the Future conference speaker from India, Sarika Gupta Bhattacharyya, for the generous invitation to attend!
Hillary Clinton introduced the Vital Voices Global Trailblazer award winner for 2014, Razan Zaitouneh – رزان زيتونة, who has been missing since Dec. 9, 2013 and believed to have been captured for her human rights activism and outspokenness to see an end to the violence in Syria. In a sampling of videos of Razan, she simultaneously holds so much hope for her country and was proud to be there to witness changes (despite the violence), stressing the beauty of the people working silently and diligently to see changes. Clinton boldly said, “Set her free….even now, Razan’s voice will not be silenced.”
